Hareen Seerha
Hareen is currently a medical student at the University of Washington School of Medicine; she aspires to go into internal medicine. Her interest in medicine stemmed from wanting deeper interpersonal relations with patients while also advancing health equity within the field.
Hareen grew up in Montana and went to UC Berkeley for college where she graduated in 2021 with degrees in Public Health and Molecular Cell Biology. She minored in Global Poverty and Practice, a program designed to introduce students to the frameworks, methods, and practical skills necessary to enact change around poverty and inequaliy in effective ways. She has also served as a human rights intern at the Coalition of Homelessness in San Francisco. Through these educational and advocacy experiences as well as her lived experience of growing up as a woman of color in a less diverse area, she has developed an interest in health equity, community building, and collective action.
